The Senior Edit: Michael UT'18

Today I wanted to feature someone I've known for eight years now and recently had the honor of taking grad photos for this past spring break. He officially graduated last semester with a degree in mathematics, and honestly, if you ever need to inspire your own passion for learning, just have one conversation with this guy. A few days ago I asked a question on my Instastory, "what are the simple things that make you happy?" Guess who replied, "The Euler-Lagrange equation is one of the simplest pleasures. I'll have it with a cup of coffee."

So for his outfit, Michael kept it simple with a well-fitted navy suit, a white dress shirt, and a tie + tie-clip. He also brought two additional ties so we could change up the look a bit, but this is the one I want to feature. Navy is honestly a really good color to go with the yellow CNS stole too! For his shoes, he wore a simple brown pair of dress shoes. Pro-tip for any guys who are going to be wearing dress shoes -- make sure they're broken in before your session so you don't get sore feet after all the walking around!

I really wanted Michael's senior session to capture who he is and what he loves -- so besides the math accessories, we headed on over to RLM to see what we could make of the building where so much math and physics is done at UT. We found a classroom with really nice light, and I got a few photos in there.

Another tip for guys out there: if you decide to wear a sports jacket for your shoot, you might want to take it off between photos to help keep cool under the hot Texas sun! Especially if you get sweaty easily! Thankfully, we thought of this at the beginning of Michael's shoot.

Summary: Don't be afraid to get creative with your senior photos. Of course there are the usual Tower photos, blue door photos, etc, but there are lots of other locations on campus that maybe you spent a lot of time in. Send those ideas my way and we can definitely try some of them. It will give you a unique set of senior photos no one else has!
