The Senior Edit: Shopping Edition

Choosing your outfit for your senior photos can quickly become a stressful event -- but it shouldn't be! The main two things when it comes to what to wear is that you should wear something that feels like you. Not necessarily what you think is in fashion right now, or what you think is "fancy enough" if you're not a particularly "fancy" person. If you wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident, that's reflected in your photos. So if you love vintage pieces, look for those. If you prefer street fashion over haute couture, then break out your favorite pair of Yeezy's! Ultimately, make this session yours.

The suggestions ahead are just suggestions -- they're places I love to shop or have seen some outfits that my seniors like. Hopefully this helps you though in your quest for the right outfit; don't put too much pressure on yourself and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to shop! (Click on a photo to see the featured outfit online.)

Francesca's // Shop here

Francesca's has a great selection of affordable fashion pieces -- seriously, I've never shopped there without seeing some kind of sale going on. You can see a lot of what they're carrying on their online shop, but I highly recommend going into the store (there's one in the Domain, by Central Market on Lamar, and in Barton Creek Mall) to try it on. I've found that with many of their outfits there's something about it that makes it a deal breaker for me after I put it on, even though it looks super cute on the hanger. I did buy the yellow dress that I wore for my grad photos from here though, so it's definitely worth a look.

Lulu's // Shop here

Lulu's is my all-time favorite online boutique. There is a seemingly endless selection of pretty dresses on their website -- and you can get a 15% off student discount now! I've been really loving midi-dresses lately, they feel a little more mature than short dresses and are long enough for that flowy skirt look, but just short enough so you're not stepping all over the hem of it. They don't have a physical store that you can go to, but their return policy is awesome and lets you send back anything you don't want for free! (Unless it's a final sale item).

Bella Ella Boutique // Shop here

I just found this boutique recently and it's super affordable and cute! They don't have a huge selection, but from what I've seen that they do have you should be able to find something feminine and fancy without breaking the bank.

Urban Outfitters // Shop here

This is probably the priciest of the shops that I've featured. They're sister stores with Free People and Anthropologie, which are two other clothing stores with a really nice selection of fashion. Urban can get expensive, but I definitely see the quality in the fabric they use and just the fit of different clothing I've tried on from there. There's also a location on campus conveniently located on Guad, so you could always just check out what they're carrying on your way home from class!

Finally, if you want to check out a few more places in person, there's a Nordstrom Rack in North Austin (Nordstrom Rack Gateway, 9607 Research Blvd, Austin, TX 78759), a Macy's and a Nordstrom at the Domain, and JC Penny and Dillard's at Barton Creek Mall!
