School Spirit

The Senior Edit: Brittany UT'18

This shoot will always have a special place in my heart because I can honestly attribute a lot of the growth of my photography business to Brittany, who recommended me to every single friend she had. She was also the first senior I had that brought multiple outfits,

Outfit #1 // Blue bodycon

Brittany's first outfit was this pretty blue formal dress. I loved the ruffled, off-the-shoulder detail on the otherwise simple dress. Blue is also one of the best colors to go with the gold College of Natural Sciences stole! Any shade of blue works, but she went with a deep royal blue color that also goes well with the other more orange outfits she chose.

Outfit #2 // Bold patterned skater dress

I loved the flair of this little skater dress! The skirt had just the right amount of poof to it, and the simple cut of the dress helped tone down the busy pattern. I also liked her idea of wearing the graduation cap with the dress instead of just wearing the stole. This helped add more variety to her photos. The gold of the dress also accentuates her gold tassel -- so don't be afraid of patterns! You can always wear a patterned outfit with your cap instead of your stole :)

Outfit #3 // Ok Cool. Hook 'em!

Brittany's jewelry and shoes were simple, elegant touches that matched with every outfit change -- whether it was one of her dressier ones or this casual one! She kept it simple by pairing a Hook 'Em burnt orange shirt with black ripped jeans. The black pants went well with her black heels and graduation cap to keep her outfit simple against this busy backdrop of the UT seal.

I really liked how Brittany brought a variety of dressy and casual outfits that matched with her shoes, and of course, her stole and cap. Wearing the cap in the photos, even without the gown, was a really cute idea that I hope to shoot more pictures of for seniors this semester!
